Why trust any of this
Units I claim to have tested: zero
Every site in this category tells you they tested twenty of these. Most of them did not, and it is trivially checkable. I have not tested any of this gear, I am not going to say otherwise, and that is the one claim on this site you can verify immediately.
What I do instead, on every page: read the manufacturer's manual and published specification, compile the numbers that actually decide the purchase, do the arithmetic in the open where you can check it, pull the live price from Amazon's API and stamp it with the date, and name one product on every roundup that I would skip. Where a measured number came from somebody else's lab, I say whose lab it was and link it.
That is a smaller claim than a test lab and it is one I can keep. The full method is here, including what disqualifies a product and how the scoring works.
